We
have an exciting women's ministry here at Riverdale Baptist Church.
W.O.W. ministries stands for Women of Worth. Colossians 1:10,
our theme verse, says, “That we may have
a walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every
good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” God places
a tremendous value on each one of us and has gifted us with many unique
talents. Our desire and goal for W.O.W. ministries is to enable each woman
to use her gifts in various ministries for the cause of Christ. Through
the dedication of many women, God has allowed us to expand our ministry
in numerous areas.
Ladies' Nite Out
We have wonderful times of fellowship at our Ladies’ Nite Out meetings.
Ladies’ Nite Out is an event Women of Worth sponsors three times a year. This year we began on Friday, September 14 with our annual Crab Feast. It was a great night of fun, fellowship and food. Over 150 women attended and we laughed and sang our way through a evening of fellowship and worship. It was a great way for our ladies to connect and meet new church members and friends.
All ladies 18 years and older are welcome.
The next Ladies’ Nite Out event will take place on May 2.

Care Ministries
This ministry is focused on meeting the needs of people who are hurting, whether physically, emotionally or spiritually. Our women visit the sick, write cards and
make phone calls to minister and encourage others. Several service activities
are scheduled to extend our outreach to the surrounding community.

Banquet Ministry
WOW Ministries organizes various banquets and dinners throughout the year such as New Members’ Luncheon and Valentine’s Banquet. These are a great opportunities to fellowship and meet new people in our church.
Taste of Home
This ministry provides a delicious home-cooked meal for a nominal price on Wednesday nights before the Praise and Worship Service. Special “Kidz Meals” are prepared for young children. Please sign up by 4:00 pm on Mondays at the church Welcome Center or call Patti Berry at 301-249-7001, ext. 146 to attend our Taste of Home dinner.
LIFT (Ladies' Inspirational Fellowship Time)
The LIFT is an annual get-a-way for the members and friends of Riverdale Baptist Ministries. This is a wonderful 3 day 2 night conference where you will get energized and spiritually uplifted. It's a time to relax and be pampered. You will enjoy great speakers, music, workshops, delicious food and fun and fellowship and maybe
a little shopping at nearby stores.
This year's LIFT will be held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at the Holiday Inn East, and our guest speaker will be recording artist/speaker, Paula Dunn. Our ladies look forward to this refreshing break to shake off winter's blues. For more information regarding the LIFT call the church at 301-249-7001, ext. 147.
Food Service Ministry
We provide meals through the network of church families for those members who have had illness, hospitalization, or a death in the family. This is done in coordination with our Bible study classes.
Sports Ministry
This ministry offers an opportunity for women in our ministry to reach out to others and enjoy different sports throughout the year and be fit both spiritually and physically. We have a women's basketball league and softball league.
Small Groups/Support Groups
Small groups meet weekly for topical studies to enable women to grow spiritually in their every day lives and share thoughts and prayer requests. There is a once a month service project and devotional time. This gives our ladies an opportunity to minister at various locations in our community.
Mentoring Ministry
This program is designed to allow women an opportunity to grow spiritually with the help of a mentor. A six week commitment is required for those entering the program.
It is a great opportunity for a mentor/mentee to grow together in Christ.
Vinyard Books and Gifts
This ministry makes available good Christian reading and Bible study materials for the whole family. The bookstore is located in the foyer area of our church and is open on Sundays after the worship service and before Sunday school hour. It is a blessing to be able to offer this service at prices lower than retail.
